Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner and a briefing on your upcoming climb.
After breakfast, drive to the Rongai Gate for registration. Begin your trek through the lush rainforest, passing through farmland and pine forests before reaching Simba Camp. The trail is gentle and offers a beautiful introduction to the climb.
As you progress through the moorland zone, take in the sweeping views of the Kenyan plains. The path steadily becomes steeper as it leads to Kikelewa Camp, nestled within a sheltered valley.
Ascend steadily through grassy slopes and rugged terrain, making your way to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, nestled beneath the striking spires of Mawenzi Peak. This camp provides stunning views and an excellent opportunity to acclimatize.
Journey through the lunar-like desert of the “Saddle,” situated between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Reach Kibo Hut, the base camp for your summit attempt. Conclude the day with an early dinner and rest in preparation for the final ascent.
Start your summit attempt around midnight, trekking through the darkness to arrive at Gilman’s Point by sunrise. From there, proceed to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your incredible achievement, descend to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.
Finish your descent to Marangu Gate, where you’ll be awarded your summit certificates. From there, you’ll travel back to Arusha to enjoy a well-deserved night of relaxation and celebrate your incredible achievement.
