Overview

The Usambara Mountains, situated in the north eastern part of Tanzania, are known for their pleasant climate, beautiful view points and fertile slopes. Favoured by the Germans and English during colonial times, the area is rich in historical buildings from the period. Excursions, which take some days, will include hiking and visits to Wasambaa villages, where visitors may have a glimpse of daily life of the local people. This tour will take you to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Materuni Water Falls, Usambara Mountains and Lake Magoroto.

Itinerary

You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and welcomed to Tanzania by aDikop Tours staff member. He will drive you to Arusha and your accommodation where you will have the chance to relax and prepare for tomorrows safari. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Hotel.
Meals: Half Board

In the morning you will start your safari with a drive to the Tarangire National Park. The park is roughly the size of Luxembourg and covers an area of about 2,600 km². Bush savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to watch them and absorb the landscape. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons and more than 500 types of birds. After an extensive game drive you will leave the park in the afternoon and drive to your accommodation in Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge

This day will be taking you to the paradise of the primates and aquatic birds. The lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats such as acacia woodlands and underground water forest. The park is very small but is able to support the large number of animal species and incredible bird life. It has the large concentration of baboons, giraffes, elephants, impalas and the lions here are known for their tree climbing. After a great game viewing at the lake Manyara National Park, you will be driving to your lodge for overnight. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Hotel.
Meals: Half Board

You will drive to the slopes of Kilimanjaro, up to Materuni village. From there you will hike for about 45 minutes and pass by the local coffee farmers where you will get a chance to hear and see how local farmers grow coffee and process it till sold. Also you will get time to prepare your own coffee and drink or take some home with you. After this you will walk for 45 minutes to the waterfall, passing villages of the Chagga, which is a native tribe that lives on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Near the waterfall you will have lunch and a possibility to rest and enjoy the nature around. You will see a variety of exotic plants and trees, coffee and banana trees, different fruits and animals, especially chameleon many different birds. Dinner and overnight at Weru Weru River Lodge

Explore the Usambara Mountains on the northeastern of Tanzania. Magoroto with its tropical rain forest is the perfect spot for a getaway and outdoor camping. The estate is located on an altitude of 850m above sea level where temperatures are pleasant all year long. The estate offers stunning views from the Muheza Valley to the Indian Ocean. Enjoy the lush rain forest with rare plants and bird species, explore the dense tropical forest with organic spices or have a picnic or swim in our beautiful lake. After a long hiking from Usambara Mountains here is where you can enjoy a cold swimming at Lake Magoroto. Today you will wake up early in the morning and enjoying your breakfast at your Camp or Lodge. After breakfast you will pack your things ready to drive to Daresalaam ( JK Nyerere Airport ) and catching the flight backing home with the great experience.
