This day will be taking you to the paradise of the primates and aquatic birds. The lake manyara national park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats such as acacia woodlands and underground water forest. The park is very small but is able to support the large number of animal species and incredible bird life. It has the large concentration of baboons, giraffes, elephants, impalas and the lions here are known for their tree climbing. After an early breakfast you will make your way into the Ngorongoro crater on a steep and narrow road. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah dotted with the occasional acacia tree. The wildlife here is absolutely breath-taking and if you are lucky you might spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also home to warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas and many more. Some interest facts about crater, The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera, formed during the massive explosion of the volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro some 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater has the total area of 304 km², 600 m deep and the diameter of 20 km. Here is where you can see so many animals at the same time and more closer also the crater has more than 25,000 mammals. While you cannot walk within the park itself you can enjoy the village walks, forest walks, floodplain walks and hikes along the edge of the Great Rift Valley with beautiful views of Lake Manyara. You will learn about the local plants, insects, birds and small mammals from an expert guide. The walk will take you to see local farms, homes and the Maasai market, following the tour you can decide to have local lunch in the middle of the village or at the Swahili Canteen Restaurant at Mto Wa Mbu. In the morning you will start your safari with a 10 minutes drive to the Tarangire National Park. The park is roughly the size of Luxembourg and covers an area of about 2,600 km². Bush savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to watch them and absorb the landscape. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons and more than 500 types of birds. Driving from Roika Tarangire Tented Camp to Babati town, where you can stop and spend your day enjoying and seeing the hippopotamus when you are having the canoe at the Lake Babati. Nestled in the Green Hills of Africa between Tarangire and Manyara National Parks, Lake Babati is an undiscovered gem in northern Tanzania, a place where afternoons are spent drifting in canoes, where hippopotamus spend the days lazing in the tall grasses along the lake shore and where the locals welcome you into their hearts. Early in the morning you will be starting your drive from Babati to Tabora which will take almost 7 hrs. On your way to Tabora you can see people on their rice plantations and you can stop and see how the local people cultivate and harvest the rice. You will be experiencing the real Tanzanian life by seeing the movements of people from your jeep, while driving through Singida, Nzega until Tabora town.
Historically, Tabora was once a major trading point and stopover for caravans that connected Lake Tanganyika and Central Africa with the coastal town of Bagamoyo to the northeast. Its former importance is illustrated by the fact that the infamous trader Tippu Tip, who lived during the 19th century, made Tabora the centre of his vast trading empire of ivory and slaves. The town was also an important mission station during early European exploration of Tanzania. Stanley and Livingstone both stopped here on their journeys. Here there are two ways to reach Kigoma from Tabora town, either by train or our safari jeep. The sleepy town of Tabora, in the hinterland of western Tanzania, remains a key transit point in the country. The Central Line railway branches at Tabora to both Kigoma and Mwanza, and visitors travelling by train often use Tabora as a stopover point during their journeys. There is a direct train departing from Tabora and arriving at Kigoma. Services depart once daily, and operate Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The journey takes approximately 13hrs. Kigoma is the main port, rail terminal built in 20th century and largest town on the coast of Lake Tanganyika. It is the last place Europe and America sent an emissary to trace the whereabouts of the missionary explorer, Dr. Livingstone. It had a tumultuous history of involvement in slave and ivory trading in the yesteryear but declined once the western abolition campaigns started together with a falling population and silting up of the harbour, leaving it largely dependent on the Tanzanian mainland trade, although fishing and palm oil are still thriving sources of income. It is also one of the main access points for Western Tanzania’s National Parks, Gombe Stream, and Mahale Mountain, home to troops of wild chimpanzees; mankind’s fascinating nearest genetic kin. Other activities include deep lake swimming, fishing, and snorkelling in the lake, kayaking, sailing in romantic dhows.

Taking the Boat from Kibirizi port to Gombe National Park which will take 2 hrs, you will be welcomed by the smiling park ranger who will be your guide all time you stay at Gombe National Park.
Gombe is the smallest of Tanzania’s national parks: a fragile strip of chimpanzee habitat straddling the steep slopes and river valleys that hem in the sandy northern shore of Lake Tanganyika. Its chimpanzees habituated to human visitors were made famous by the pioneering work of Dr. Jane Goodall, who in 1960 founded a behavioural research program that now stands as the longest -running study of its kind in the world. The matriarch Fiji, the last surviving member of the original community, only three-years old when Dr. Jane Goodall first set foot in Gombe, born 1958 and died in 2004. Chimpanzees share about 98% of their genes with humans, and no scientific expertise is required to distinguish between the individual repertoires of pants, hoots and screams that define the celebrities, the powerbrokers, and the supporting characters. Perhaps you will see a flicker of understanding when you look into a chimp’s eyes, assessing you in return a look of apparent recognition across the narrowest of species barriers. Gombe’s high levels of diversity make it an increasingly popular tourist destination. Besides chimpanzees, primates inhabiting Gombe include beachcomber olive baboons, red colobus, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and vervet monkeys. Red-tailed monkeys and blue monkeys have also been known to hybridise in the area. The park is also home to over 200 bird species and bush-pigs. There are also many species of snakes, and occasional hippopotamus and leopards. Visitors to the park can trek into the forest to view the chimpanzees, as well as swim and snorkel in Lake Tanganyika with almost 100 kinds of colourful cichlid fish. Cool off in the water either at the hotel’s private swimming pool or private beach. Bring a snorkel to appreciate the great variety of fish in the lake. Rent a kayak or our dhow boat for a boat excursion. In order to fully appreciate this fascinating town, take in a historical tour and visit Stanley and Livingstone’s meeting place, or learn more about the Kigoma way of life by visiting the local fish markets. After breakfast you will be driving to Kigoma Airport and taking the shared Charter Flight to JK Nyerere International Airport (Dare salaam) and waiting your flight backing home.
