Overview
This tour allows us to experience the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit. On this 9-days of the Serengeti Migration Safari you will visit the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and the Serengeti National Park. The seasonally sight of thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing the grassland savannah is something to behold and is surely one of Africa’s natural wonders. Furthermore you will be awarded with beautiful landscapes, an animal-filled crater and thousands of flamingos.

Itinerary
You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and welcomed to Tanzania by a Dikop Tours staff member. He will drive you to Arusha and your accommodation where you will have the chance to relax and prepare for tomorrows safari. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Hotel.

In the morning you will start your safari with a drive to the Tarangire National Park. The park is roughly the size of Luxembourg and covers an area of about 2,600 km². Bush savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to watch them and absorb the landscape. Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons and more than 500 types of birds. After an extensive game drive you will leave the park in the afternoon and drive to your accommodation in Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge.

After an early breakfast you will make your way into the Ngorongoro crater on a steep and narrow road. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah dotted with the occasional acacia tree. The wildlife here is absolutely breath-taking and if you are lucky you might spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also home to warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas and many more. Some interest facts about crater, The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera, formed during the massive explosion of the volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro some 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater has the total area of 304 km², 600 m deep and the diameter of 20 km. After a morning full of game viewing and a picnic lunch you will leave the crater in the afternoon and head to Serengeti national park for overnight. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wild Camp

Serengeti has really special sights, sound, and smell of Africa with stunning scenery, ever changing light and entertaining wildlife. In this park the animals don’t walk to any schedule so we may find lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, antelopes, gazelles, hippos and many species of birds and reptiles during our game drive. Here you might spend your day at the central park area or your guide will be knowing where to take you according to the season (migration of the animals).
NOTE: The game drive and where we are going to overnight will depend on the migration season because our focus on this tour will be to follow the wildebeests migration. Dinner and overnight at Tanzania Bush Tented Camp in Kogatende.

Half game drive in Serengeti National Park and before leaving the park we visit Serengeti visitor’s centre for more information about the park and be able to follow the trails of wildebeest and see some animals very close such as rock or tree hyrax, porcupine and lizards. After that we will be having the lunch and exit the Serengeti and drive to Karatu. Dinner and over night at Marera Valley Lodge.

After a long drive from Serengeti the last day, you can enjoy your day by relaxing at the lodge. Dinner and over night at Marera Valley Lodge.

While you can not walk within the park itself you can enjoy the village walks, forest walks, floodplain walks and hikes along the edge of the Great Rift Valley with beautiful views of Lake Manyara. You will learn about the local plants, insects, birds and small mammals from an expert guide. The walk will take you to see local farms, homes and the Maasai market, following the tour you can decide to have local lunch in the middle of the village or at the Swahili Canteen Restaurant in Mto Wa Mbu. This is a day packed with culture, sights and amazing landscapes. In the late afternoon we drive to Arusha. Dinner and over night at Tulia Hotel.

On this day you will be driving to the airport [JRO] or [ARK] catching the flight to Zanzibar or backing home with an amazing experience.
